No one was injured after an explosion and chemical fire Tuesday afternoon at Olon Industries, 411 Union St., on Geneva’s near West Side, according to officials.

No one was injured after an explosion and chemical fire Tuesday afternoon at a Geneva factory, according to Geneva Fire Department officials.

The fire was extinguished by 4:25 p.m. and there was no known hazard to the community, officials said. Notifications were made to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration about the explosion and fire.
