JOHOR BARU: Voters in Pulai and Simpang Jeram have shown the rest of the country that there is no"green wave" in the south, only a"red and blue" one, says Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah Wee Tse.

The Pulai PKR division chief said Pakatan Harapan’s victory in the by-elections was a strong message that Johor was not a place for those who played up the 3R issues."There is no ‘green wave’ here because there is a red and blue fortress blocking it," said Puah at a press conference at Pakatan’s supporters camp in Taman Dahlia here on Saturday ."This is a win for a more moderate Malaysia," he added.

Pakatan had won both the Pulai parliamentary seat and Simpang Jeram state seat in Johor, said the Election Commission. Former Johor state speaker Suhaizan Kayat won the Pulai parliamentary by-election with a majority of 18,641 votes.
