Denver prosecutors will not pursue criminal charges against four former employees of the Colorado Judicial Department despite an auditor’s report that found evidence of fraud and the misuse of public funds within the State Court Administrator’s Office.
The Office of the State Auditor referred the case for possible criminal prosecution in February, afterby three former top employees at the State Court Administrator’s Office, as well as by a fourth unnamed employee. Greg Fugate, a spokesman for the auditor’s office, said Wednesday that the auditor’s investigation ended Feb. 4 when the office provided the final investigation report to Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Brian Boatright. A heavily redacted version of the full report was given to the Denver District Attorney’s Office on Feb. 11, Tyler said.
