No credible threat found after Wadsworth High School students and staff evacuate for bomb threat

Wadsworth High School received a bomb threat Monday afternoon.

According to Superintendent Andy Hill , the school resource officers and administrators became aware of the threat involving the high school at approximately 1:45 p.m. Students and employees were evacuated from the building as the school worked with the Wadsworth Police Department.

Hill said the said while the school and police had no reason to believe the threat was credible, the building was still evacuated to ensure the safety of everyone while working with police through the determination process. The Wadsworth Police Department gave the clearance that the high school was deemed safe to re-enter following a search by bomb dogs from numerous surrounding agencies. Hill said the school is working closely with the police department to determine who was responsible for the threat.Hill extended his appreciation to the Chief Dorland, the school resources officers and the other several members of the Wadsworth Police Department for its quick response.Copyright 2026 WOIO.
