No cause for concern over Nurshuhaini’s condition ahead of SEA Games

PETALING JAYA: National singles coaching director Wong Choong Hann is optimistic that Siti Nurshuhaini Azman (pic) will be ready for the Cambodia SEA Games from May 5-17 despite carrying long-term injuries.

Nurshuhaini suffered hamstring and ankle injuries during the World Junior Championships in Santander, Spain, last October and has only competed in two tournaments since then.

With just four players left in the revamped women’s singles squad, Nurshuhaini will see action with Wong Ling Ching , Tan Zhing Yi and Ong Xin Yee in Cambodia. Since the world junior, Nurshuhaini competed in the Malaysian International Challenge in Ipoh in December where she lost in the last 16 and fell in the qualifying rounds of the Uganda International two weeks ago.
