None of the 56 Covid19 cases related to the Sarawak General Hospital cluster originated from the hospital’s Covid-19 wards or intensive care units (ICUs), says the Health Ministry. Read more at
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said most of the healthcare workers who were infected by the virus had gotten it outside the hospital.
Dr Noor Hisham said as of April 29, a total of 2,003 close contacts have been traced and identified by the ministry’s active case detection exercise.Dr Noor Hisham announced two new cases under the SGH cluster, which brings the total number of cases to 56. The practice of social distancing and the wearing of personal protective equipment is also being enforced at the hospital.
On the other two large clusters in Sarawak, Dr Noor Hisham announced one new case under the church gathering cluster, while there are no new cases related to the person under investigation who visited the Italy cluster.There are 87 active cases with two of them being treated at ICUs.
