UH has a chance to sweep a pair of tough road games to begin the season with rival Texas Tech on deck Saturday.
Houston Cougars wide receiver KeSean Carter, middle, during drills on the first day of football practice at the University of Houston campus facilities Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022 in Houston, TX.LUBBOCK — The University of Houston continues a tough stretch to begin the season – and gets an early Big 12 preview – when the No. 25 Cougars face Texas Tech on Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Texas Tech has been a frequent opponent for the Cougars since the breakup of the Southwest Conference in the mid-1990s, and the two schools are set to renew the rivalry when the Cougars join the Big 12 in 2023. The series has been lopsided, with the Red Raiders winning each of the last four meetings, and UH has not won in Lubbock since 1990.– would be a big confidence boost for a UH squad with championship aspirations.
