The No. 1 Ohio State Men's Soccer team continues its historic season into the NCAA Tournament this weekend. The top-seeded Bucks prepare to host Western Michigan on Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Ohio State earned a first-round bye after earning the program's highest seeding ever as the No. 1 overall seed. Ohio State is coming off a 1-0 victory over rival Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament Final, with the program winning its fourth Big Ten Tournament Title in front of a record-setting crowd of nearly nine thousand fans. Western Michigan comes to Columbus after defeating SIUE, 5-1 in winter conditions in Kalamazoo.
Ohio State is making its 12th NCAA Tournament appearance, but first since 2022. Sunday's second-round match will also mark Ohio State's first home NCAA Tournament game since 2015. The match begins at 5 P.M. Tickets are on sale, and the highest ticket price is $10 for adults. Buckeyes gaffer Brian Maisonneuve is hoping for another record turnout.
"You saw the atmosphere and excitement that the big crowd generated," said Maisonneuve. "It helped us win that game, no question at all. We'd love to see them come out again."
