1 in the NJ.com Top 20, employed a familar script in its playoff opener as it cruised to a 42-7 victory over eigth-seeded Seton Hall Prep in the first round of the NJSIAA/Xfinity Non-Public A tournament at Granatell Stadium in Ramsey. Six different of Ironmen scored a touchdown in the win. Don Bosco Prep took the lead on just the game’s second play from scrimmage when Zakai Murphy took a jet sweep to the left, then cut right for a 76-yard touchdown. Don Bosco Prep added to its lead when, on the first play of the second quarter, quarterback Carson Schoen faked a pitch right before rolling out left for an 8-yard TD run. Three minutes later, Colin Brennan made it 21-0 with a 4-yard TD run. In the third quarter, Schoen connected with Ca’Si Thomas on a screen pass that went for a 41-yard touchdown. Dante DeLuca added a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that made it 35-0. In the final minute, Jaylin Bullock’s 4-yard TD run put Seton Hall Prep on the scoreboard, but Isaiah Alvarez returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a TD to cap off the night’s scoring.
