Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says the silence of the non-abusers enables perpetrators to continue the abuse of women and children in South Africa.

Dlamini-Zuma said breaking the cycle of GBV and gender inequality, including brutality to the LGBTQIA community, needed ongoing interventions that filter down from government policies to community and residential structures to ensure a collective framework in the positive fight against this soaring violent pandemic.She said psychological issues that affect society start at home.

She said married people should consider going for counselling and practise raising children in safe spaces:
