Murphy faced substantial criticism for supporting his wife’s campaign, and some analysts noted a similar pattern with his appointment of his former chief of staff. “We’re talking about an appointment that’s going to be maybe 100 days … so the number of times when George Helmy would actually cast a vote is going to be pretty small,” Rasmussen said.
