KEPALA BATAS: Nine people, including a woman, were issued compounds of RM1,000 each by police for flouting the recovery movement control order (MCO) at two different locations here on Saturday (July 25) night.
North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Nor said the individuals, aged from 20 to 45, were fined during Ops Covid-19 to ensure compliance with the recovery MCO in the district.
"They were also found not to have permission from the local authorities to conduct such business," he said in a statement on Sunday . ACP Noorzainy said on the same day an operation on recovery MCO compliance was conducted by North Seberang Prai police headquarters with the collaboration of the Health Ministry and Seberang Prai City Council at Mak Mandin, Sungai Dua and Butterworth.
He said among the offences that were committed by the premises operators were not recording the details of their customers, not checking body temperatures, not providing hand sanitisers at their premises and not having proper lines for social distancing.
