A Niles man was taken from the Evanston Police Department to a local hospital Tuesday night when he walked into the building after being shot a block away, Evanston police said in a news release.
As police responded to the scene, the unidentified person who had been shot walked about one city block from that location to the police department lobby, the release sent out Wednesday states. The police department is at 1454 Elmwood Ave. Police said in the release the man was taken to Evanston Hospital where he remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
