‘They’re 5-inch heels … they’re not for a fashion statement, they’re for ammunition,’ she says
Republican presidential hopeful and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy took an early swing — or, maybe a kick would be a better way to describe it — at rivals Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley during Wednesday night’s GOP debate.
Ramaswamy called Florida Gov. DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Haley “Dick Cheney in 3-inch heels” in the opening moments of the third Republican presidential debate. “Do you want a leader from a different generation who’s gonna put this country first, or do you want Dick Cheney in 3-inch heels, in which case we’ve got two of them on stage tonight,” he asked, drawing audible groans from the audience.“I’d first like to say they’re 5-inch heels, and I don’t wear them unless you can run in them,” she countered, drawing loud applause. “The second thing I will say is, I wear heels. They’re not for a fashion statement. They’re for ammunition.
The exchange led “Dick Cheney in 3” to trend on X.com, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday night as viewers jumped on the exchange.
