“I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes . It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front-row seat ,” Glaser, 40, said in the network’s press release announcing the news.

Glaser quipped: “Outside of Will Smith slapping me, I don’t think I’ll get this much attention as a comedian in my life.”Glaser also said in her statement about the Golden Globes that some of her favorite jokes have come from past hosts such as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler or Ricky Gervais. Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, said in a statement, “Nikki Glaser is a comedic powerhouse whose daring and unfiltered humor is the perfect match for the Golden Globes.”
