after a few blocks. Designed to cushion every step with impact-absorbent pods, Nike's Joyride collection is meant to ease the running experience as much as possible, the brand said in a press release. But how exactly do they work?
Inspired by the fact that running on a softer surface, like grass or dirt, is easier on the legs and body than running on synthetic track or pavement, Nike engineered a unique cushioning system made out of pods filled with thousands of TPE beads. These beads are dispersed within the pods at the base of the shoe to allow the foam to expand in all directions as you run, forming a mold personalized for your specific stride.
While we have to wait until Aug. 15 for the shoes to become available nationwide, NikePlus members will have access to the Nike Joyride Run Flyknit style beginning July 25.
