The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that the fire might’ve been burning at least an hour before firefighters were able to attack it: “At 9:29 p.m., the first call went out to firefighters, but after visiting the school, they reported seeing nothing out of place through the windows. Since it was outside of school hours, calls went out to the alarm company and Richmond Public Schools to gain access to the building, but there was not any access granted as a result of those calls.
