“In this situation, the civilians are struggling to flee, and they can’t leave the Strip,” Professor Barton told Sky News Australia. “Many have gone to the southern side of the Strip as the Israelis requested, but there are hundreds of thousands who haven’t been able to do that.“It’s a nightmare situation, and for the long term, there will need to be some sort of just and durable political solution.”
