Nigeria counts votes after tightly contested election, with three frontrunners competing for presidency of Africa's most populous democracy
Voters in Africa's most populous nation are choosing a new president, following the second and final term of incumbent Muhammadu Buhari.
For the first time since the end of military rule in 1999, a third serious candidate has emerged to challenge the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party . "One! Two! Three!" people counted out loud together as the Independent National Electoral Commission presiding officer held up the ballot papers to crowds at one polling station in southern Port Harcourt.
