After years of competing against each other, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer had a chance to dive into the recent changes to the sport.

With a combined 10 National Championships in their trophy cases, few know college football better than Nick Saban and Urban Meyer .

"The past five years we have passed a lot of legislation relative to college football that has really made it more difficult to spend time with your current team," Saban said, referring to college football’s expanded transfer portal rules. "You need to recruit players on your team all the time, because basically they are free agents twice a year."

"Those were almost sacred times," Saban said of the old window after spring recruiting. "Even though you weren't allowed to go out there and coach them, you could spend a lot of time with them. That's all kind of disappeared." "I’m really proud of the fact that had 668 degrees in the past seven years," said Saban. "That's really what it's all about. The one fear that I have, guys being able to transfer two or three times, will impact how many graduate. Down the road, we may have some sad stories about what happens to these players."
