Nick Perkins is a bit of a wordsmith. In fact, some might say his skill with the quill is undeniable. (Editors Note: Nobody has ever actually said that). By day, he is the Copy Chief for Upslope Media, a digital marketing company based in Wyoming. He is also the Copy Chief for The BARK Firm, a local advertising agency.

In addition to his day job, Nick is also a freelance writer and has contributed to multiple websites and publications, including Collider, Fangoria, Dread Central, WhatCulture, Pro Wrestling Illustrated, and more. He was awarded 'Contributor of the Year' for two years in a row at his job with Townsquare Media, and he has a degree in Communication from the University of Wyoming. Nick is an advocate for mental health and enjoys writing about the complexities of trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and more. Many of these subjects can be found in the horror genre, which is why he's so drawn to it. Sometimes, the scariest things aren't the ghouls who go bump in the night...they're the things inside of us. Nick enjoys writing about those things and reminding others that the best way to defeat our demons is to face them head on.Nick has been writing about horror movies, television, and novels for years. Ever since he picked up Stephen King's IT as an 11-year-old boy , he's been beholden to the darkness. Nick has written for Fangoria, Dread Central, and more before coming to Collider and he's excited to explore the depths of the horror genre in this new medium. Nick doesn't really have a favorite media. He collects VHS tapes, for some reason. He knows they'll never be of any value, but he does it for nostalgia's sake. His happiest memories were of getting out of school on a Friday afternoon and then going to his local video store to pick out one, sometimes two, movies and maybe, just maybe, if he was really good that week, a Super Nintendo game. He's never been happier than on those Friday nights, which is why he constantly chases that dragon. And he didn't realize how sad that soundse until he wrote it out.
