X-Men star Nicholas Hoult fits both Superman and his archnemesis Lex Luthor in new Deepfake videos, pitching him for either role in the DC Universe.
Nicholas Hoult becomes both Superman and his iconic enemy, Lex Luthor, in new Deepfake video, for James Gunn's DC Universe. The Man of Steel is getting reimagined once again for the big screen as Gunn is rebooting the Superman franchise as part of his new DC Universe. Titled Superman: Legacy, the film will follow a young Clark Kent who is in his early days as the iconic Man of Tomorrow. Casting is currently underway as they are looking at getting principal photography ready for 2024.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One of the rumored frontrunners in the Superman: Legacy casting department is Hoult, who is no stranger to the comic book genre after having played Beast in the X-Men prequel movies. With the British star reportedly being eyed for either Superman or Lex, Stryder HD recently put out two Deepfake videos, imagining Hoult as both of the iconic DC roles.
The two Deepfake projects have Hoult replacing both Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg as Superman and Lex, respectively. To this point, DC Studios have not confirmed or debunked Hoult's casting rumors in Superman: Legacy. What The Rumors Are Saying About Clark Kent & Lex Luthor In Superman: Legacy When it comes to the latest Superman: Legacy rumors, both of the roles are in interesting positions.
Hoult, however, was initially rumored to be looked at for Lex, which would be a very different version of the iconic DC foe if said casting details for Superman Legacy are meant to be believed. But not long after the first report came out, a second one emerged, claiming that Hoult was actually also being considered for Superman. At the time of this story's publication, no other actors have been revealed to be considered for Lex, at least not officially.
Hopefully, Gunn and DC Studios are getting closer to locking in their cast for Superman: Legacy, which will ideally be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. With Superman: Legacy being one of the most integral films to the new DC Universe, whoever gets cast as Clark, Lex, and Lois Lane will have big shoes to fill for the next several years. But for now, time will tell who will end up joining the DC Universe in Gunn's Superman reboot.
