Una carrera en la actuación no estaba en el radar de Chavez hasta que interpretó a Atticus Finch
No es exagerado decir que Nicholas Alexander Chavez tuvo un año muy bueno. El miembro del grupo informal de actores de Ryan Murphy, protagonizó dos de las nuevas series del creador. Primero llegó la nominada al Globo de Oro “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” , para Netflix. Chavez interpretó a Lyle, el mayor de dos hermanos que cumplen una condena de por vida en prisión por matar a sus padres, José y Kitty, en 1989.
Un año después, ganó el Premio Emmy Diurno 2022 al mejor intérprete joven en una serie dramática. Sobre la formación que reciben los actores de los seriales melodramáticos de larga duración, conocidos en inglés como soap operas, Chavez dijo que la serie le ayudó: “No es broma cuando hablan de la memorización. Creo que mi día más pesado en el set fue algo así como 85 páginas”.
