NI Water has issued a statement as some people report not having water for 24 hours
Water supply problems that impacted homes across Belfast on Thursday were caused by a fault at a service reservoir that supplies water to the city, NI Water says.
Some businesses were forced to close in the city centre as a result of the issue, which NI Water has said is now resolved. It has said that the issue arose during routine maintenance at Westland Service Reservoir and that they worked quickly to resolve the problem. NI Water has said that it may take some time for the water system to recharge fully and some customers may notice a brief change in their water colour.
