'The audience will be entertained - they'll never be bored, they'll get a laugh'
Acclaimed Belfast playwright Marie Jones is bringing her hilarious feel-good comedy Women on the Verge of HRT back to the city's most iconic stage.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Marie said she was "very excited" to bring the show back to Belfast, having actually performed it herself on the GOH stage just over a decade ago. "There were a lot of actresses at the time and I was thinking see another ten years, are going to be brilliant in this part, but they're just too young now because I really wanted two really good Belfast actresses who could deliver that delivery - very sharp, very witty and so we finally got them in the end."
"The whole play really is about her drive and her anger and her energy and then into this and I think a lot of women of a certain age can understand that. "It was in hush tones when people would say the change with a screwed-up face and a quiet voice but now, people talk about it much more openly. Whether you are on the verge of HRT yourself, know someone who is or are just looking for a night full of laughter for all ages and genders, Maire guarantees that this production will never have you feeling bored.
