Waiting times worsened in most key areas, but the wait to start cancer treatment improves slightly.
Hospital waiting times have hit record levels in Wales again, with the list passing the 800,000 mark for the first time.
The increase for the seventh month in a row comes as Health Secretary Jeremy Miles announces £28m to help cut the longest waiting times. "The NHS is working very hard to reduce the backlog, which built up during the pandemic – this is additional funding, over and above the recovery money we make available every year, to support the NHS to cut the longest waits and improve access to planned care," said Miles.
Cancer charity Macmillan said specific plans to reduce cancer waiting times were "noticeably absent" from Thursday's funding announcement."There are real people behind the figures released today and far too many continue to suffer agonising long waits for the cancer diagnosis and the essential treatment they need."
