Columbus Blue Jackets player Johnny Gaudreau is dead at 31 after a tragic bike accident.
NHL player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were fatally struck by a car while biking in New Jersey on Thursday.Gaudreau, 31, was a forward on the Columbus Blue Jackets. His NHL career started in 2011 when he was drafted to the Calgary Flames. He was often called 'Johnny Hockey.'New Jersey State Police said Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, 29, were struck and killed by a car in Salem County.
'The National Hockey League family is shocked and saddened by the tragic passing of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew,' NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement.
