VARIOUS Hindu non-governmental organisations (NGOs) would assist the Thaipusam task force to ensure a smooth and safe Thaipusam celebration, Malaysia Nanban reported.
A meeting on the details was held between the Malaysia Hindhudharma Maamandram and the Malaysia Hindu Sangam , together with representatives from the NGOs.MHDM coordinator Rishi Kumar said one of the main activities would be the Dharma Vel project at Batu Caves.
He explained that the prayers had been offered at no charge since seven years ago to prevent devotees from overpaying for the service to unscrupulous individuals. “We will act against the sale of excessively noisy instruments and laser lights,” he said, adding that all visitors were required to mask up.
