Njabulo Ngcobo could well be the piece of the puzzle that has been missing in Kaizer Chiefs’ defence department
.
This unwanted record left the club’s fans rallying on social media for Chiefs to lure the likes of Ngcobo, who uses both his right and left foot equally. “And with time, I’ll settle in because already I feel almost at home,” the 27-year-old told City Press this week on the sidelines of a photoshoot of Chiefs’ new kit.
Although Ngcobo only debuted in the premier division last season, the AmaZulu development graduate has drawn comparisons to former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Mbulelo “OJ” Mabizela, who is ranked as one of the most intelligent defenders in the PSL. Ngcobo maintains that Chiefs were “going through a phase” last season and predicted that the upcoming campaign will be different.
