Ngcobo: I am trying to understand what the coach expects of me

The 21-year-old is yet to convince new coach Stuart Baxter that he can be a trusted lieutenant on the field of play. Despite being one of the team’s star performers last season, Ngcobo has only featured in three games where he came in as a substitute this time around. His lack of game time has led to fans questioning Baxter’s tactics.

“I am pushing myself in training and I am trying to help the team and understand what the coach expects of me,” Nkosingiphile said. The budding midfielder, nicknamed Mshini, says he is encouraged by the backing he has been receiving from fans. “After the defeat against Royal AM, everyone is on their toes. We are all working and have upped our game. We will send a message in the upcoming game. We do not want to lose that way again.”
