Seattle heads on the road for the first time under Mike Macdonald and look to start 2-0 under the first-year head coach.
The Seattle Seahawks won their first game of the Mike Macdonald era 26-20 against the Denver Broncos. The game managed to look very similar to the last few years with early offensive ineptitude and a butt-puckering finish. Yet, the speed and physicality of the defense was a notable step up from recent times. With Seattle looking to build on their opening performance in Foxboro against the New England Patriots, FanDuel has Seattle as a favorite.
The Patriots also have a first-year head coach in former player Jerod Mayo and, like the Seahawks, won their debut under the new head honcho with a surprising 16-10 upset of the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. New England’s defense held the Bengals to 224 total yards and forced two turnovers while their offense did just enough to come away with the victory. The over/under is 40.5 which - with only one game to go off for each side - could be a crapshoot.
