The NFL will continue its tradition of playing 'Lift Every Voice and Sing,' often referred to as the Black National Anthem, before the Super Bowl. This decision comes despite ongoing criticism from Republicans and threats from some viewers to boycott the game.

Diversity, equity and inclusion efforts have been under attack since President Donald Trump returned to power, but it looks like the NFL won’t be caving in at least one area on Super Bowl Sunday.

Trump is reportedly slated to attend, and if he does, he will get to hear the playing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” prior to kick. Grammy Award-winning artist, Ledisi, is slated to sing the song, which is often called the Black National Anthem.Donald Trump can’t be president again.

The inclusion of the song prior to major sporting events has long been singled out and attacked by Republicans. And, once again, folks are having meltdowns on social media over the news that the song will continue on with many of the same folks who promised previously that they would never watch the NFL again, promising once more to not watch the big game.“And with that I’ve decided that I won’t be watching. Black Americans ARE Americans. America has ONE National Anthem.
