Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman and Super Bowl champion BJ Thompson remains unconscious but in stable condition in a hospital after suffering a seizure and going into cardiac arrest during a team meeting at the Chiefs team facility on Thursday, according to his agent, Chris Turnage.

Thompson, a former standout at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, is entering his second NFL season after being drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-6, 243-pound lineman played in one game for the Chiefs last season, recording two tackles in the team’s regular season finale win, 13-12, over the Los Angeles Chargers.
