Any civil rights lawyer will tell you that proving racial discrimination is difficult. It’s not the 1960s anymore. People don’t just come out and tell you that they won’t hire a Black person. That’s illegal and well … racist. And no one wants to be called a racist. Nowadays, employers will graciously thank you for taking the time to apply and inform you that, while it was a tough decision, they have chosen to go with someone else. Case closed. Nothing to see here.
