Three primetime MSNBC shows from Tuesday appeared in the top-10 most watched cable programs last week—was the third-most-watched cable show with 2.8 million viewers; the 4 p.m. news hour on MSNBC was the sixth-most-watched at 2.7 million viewers; and the 9 p.m. hour was in eighth place, watched by 2.6 million.
Fox News was still the most-watched overall cable news network last week with an average of 1.8 million viewers in primetime, compared to 1.5 million for MSNBC and 832,000 for CNN.sports accounted for 94 of the 100 most-watched broadcasts last year, and 82 of those spots belonged to the NFL. The average audience for an NFL broadcast totaled 16.7 million last year, down from 17.
