NFL player Tae Hayes is free on bond after being arrested on drug possession charges early Sunday morning in Morgan County.

According to jail records, Hayes was booked around 3:45 a.m. on a marijuana charge. He posted a $300 bond and was released about 90 minutes later. The exact circumstances of his arrest are not available at this time. Hayes was a standout player at Decatur High School and played college football at Appalachian State before entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He’s played with the Jaguars, Dolphins, Patriots and most recently the Jets. He was also a part of the 2022 USFL Championship team in Birmingham., the Jets say they are aware of the situation and have no further comment pending the legal outcome of the case.
