The NFL draft is less than a week away, and it feels like everyone is confused about what the Texans will do and how their pick could affect the rest of the draft. Do they take a quarterback at No. 2, even if Bryce Young is off the board, trade back, or go with best available player? Only a select few on Kirby Drive know.
Taking a defensive end over a QB is a risk. If it were me, I’d be picking quarterback C.J. Stroud. Houston desperately needs a QB, and why not get the best quarterback available? The film doesn’t lie. He’s good. And it’s difficult to find one. But I’m also not being paid to make these decisions. Christian Gonzalez would become the second cornerback drafted in the first round by the Lions in four years.The fact the Lions have two picks in the first round makes me believe they might be ripe for a trade. I could see them trading with the Cardinals to get Jalen Carter. But if they don’t, they also need a long-term answer at cornerback, and Gonzalez is widely considered one of the top two corners in this draft, along with Devon Witherspoon.
