The NFL has fined now former Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder $60M connected to allegations of misconduct and financial improprieties made by former team employees, the league announced Thursday. More details:
According to the press release from the league, lead investigator Mary Jo White and her colleagues conducted a comprehensive and independent investigation over 17 months that included interviews with dozens of witnesses, sometimes on multiple occasions, a review of more than 10,000 documents and assistance from a team of forensic accountants.
“The conduct substantiated in Ms. White’s findings has no place in the NFL. We strive for workplaces that are safe, respectful and professional. What Ms. Johnston experienced is inappropriate and contrary to the NFL’s values.” “Mr. Snyder, for nearly a year, refused to be interviewed and, when he did finally agree to an interview, he declared that it would be limited to one hour. … Similarly, the Club refused, for many months, to search for and produce critical documents,” the report stated.
