Thanks to a lingering front, we'll hold onto the chance of passing showers through our Friday. Friday will begin with temperatures in the 50s for most, then by the afternoon we'll mainly see highs in the 60s.

Outside of any showers, skies will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Friday night will then bring lows in the 40s and 50s as we hold onto a slight rain chance. As we move into the weekend, the focus will then be on a strong and potentially high-impact winter weathermaker that will move across the southern US. At this point for our area though the chance of seeing any wintry weather remains low. There are two main solutions we're keeping our eye on. The first one is what the models are currently favoring, and is becoming increasingly likely, is where the low tracks farther north which would result in our area seeing straight rain. However, in that scenario, that could also open up the door to potentially see thunderstorms and maybe even some strong storms, mainly in the southern half of our area. The second is while unlikely at this point, if the low does track farther south, that would drag the wintry impacts south along with it. Based on current guidance, scattered rain showers are possible on Saturday with about a 50% chance across the NBC-15 area. The best chance of wet weather will come on Sunday as the front gets ready to move through. If we do see thunderstorms, the window would mainly be from late Saturday night through Sunday until the front passes. Outside of any wet weather, skies will be mostly cloudy both days with highs in the 60s Saturday while some could reach 70 on Sunday. Regardless of what we see this weekend, behind our weathermaker will be some of, if not the coldest air of the season. By Monday morning most will wake up with temperatures in the 20s with wind chills in the teens . Highs will then only manage the 40s in the afternoon, even with sunshine. Lows will then head towards the teens and twenties Monday night before another day in the 40s Tuesday. Through next week, cold nights and cool days will continue, but the second half of the week should bring lows closer to freezing with highs in the 50s.An underutilized stretch of the Causeway between Felix's Fish Camp restaurant and USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park will soon be transformed.
