Newsom's Fox News interview was bogged down by Hannity foisting a seemingly endless stream of hand-picked charts on the California governor.
FILE: Gov. Gavin Newsom speaks during the Tour of the State of California at Kaiser Permanente's central refill pharmacy in Downey on Saturday, March 18, 2023.California: It’s a state. So is Florida. That’s roughly all
Hannity defended Florida’s honor by pulling out a bunch of cardboard graphs showing California bad, Florida good. The cardboard graphs were wrapped inside some sort of paper bag, which was audibly crinkling for what also sounded like an eternity, distracting from an already silly debate. A conversation was not had. Hannity laid out his credentials for judging the two states, which is that he lived in California in the 1980s. Then he showed Newsom a “domestic net migration” chart , which Newsom countered by noting that other states besides his own have had recent declines in their populations.
