The man in the video, whose face is not visible, appears to be wearing similar light-blue swim trunks Wells was photographed wearing earlier in the day. The person who snapped the video felt confident enough that it could be Wells that he turned it over to investigators probing the college football player’s death, the outlet reported. The metadata on the footage reportedly shows the video was recorded around 2:23 p.m. on July 4.
He was last seen on the island around 3 p.m. talking to a girl. GPS data from the boat Wells arrived at the popular barrier island on with his pals shows the vessel left around 4:30 p.m.,The Post has reached out to Wells’ family’s lawyer, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, for comment on the new footage. Police have said nothing points to foul play, at least yet, and they suspect Wells likely drowned. They are awaiting official autopsy results.
