Eddie McKay, 58, was knifed by a gang of hooded thugs ahead of The Toon's Champions League clash with AC Milan.
The Newcastle United fan stabbed during a terrifying attack in Milan has opened up about his ordeal. Eddie McKay was set upon by hooded thugs just hours ahead of his side's Champions League clash with AC Milan.
At around midnight, Eddie, who is retired, was heading back to the apartment with his son and a pal when the trio were targeted by a hooded gang. The grandad believes he was singled out for the worst of the violence as he was wearing a black-and-white shirt. Eddie was taken to hospital with knife wounds to his back, legs and arms. Luckily, his injuries were not critical and he was able to fly home the following evening. This did mean, however, that he wasn't in the San Siro for Newcastle's 0-0 draw.
