MELAKA: Melaka police are investigating a case, in which a newborn was abandoned in a garbage bin at an apartment in Taman Pantai Emas here.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the baby girl was discovered by a 50-year-old retiree on Wednesday .
He said the man was alerted by his son, who heard a strange sound like a baby wailing from the garbage bin. Upon checking, he found the newborn, wrapped in a plastic bag and discarded head-down among piles of other rubbish in the bin, he added.ACP Christopher said four medical officers from Melaka Hospital rushed to the Batang Tiga police station to check on the baby.He said the baby's umbilical cord was still attached when she was found, and that she is in stable condition.
