Gorczycki, who has lived in Bayonne and Jersey City, has been convicted or pled guilty at least a dozen times since his first arrest in 1992 including a sex crime against a minor. Most of his convictions stem from violations of parole supervision, according to electronic criminal records. The 50-year-old was arrested at 6:50 a.m. in the area of 25th Street and Avenue C by Bayonne Police detectives and an investigation identified him as the person who stole cash from three collection boxes at Mount Carmel Church on East 22nd Street, part of the St. John Paul II parish, on July 23, Dundas said.Gorczycki was also identified as the assailant in a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle in the area of Lexington Avenue Aug. 3 and he was charged accordingly.
