Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton has applauded the New York Post for putting a spotlight on the “disturbed radicals” who tried to erase the existence of Israeli hostages after tearing down posters of civilians kidnapped by Hamas.
Mr Houghton said the New York Post published an article that showed two women who “arrogantly ripped” down posters of hostages being held by Hamas “to hide their story, to hide their horror”.
“It was a brilliant front page which cast a spotlight directly on the extraordinary cultural issues we face in Western countries,” Mr Houghton said. “Predictably when many anti-Israeli activists looked at that front page it didn't trigger any contrition; it didn't cause them to pause and think, perhaps we shouldn't attempt to erase the existence of hostages from the public.
“Well done to the Post for drawing a hard line in the sand and perhaps next time an activist wants to rip down a poster hung by a grieving family member, they will remember the shame of these two women.”
