The most stirring film I’ve seen in a very long time popped up out of nowhere a few days ago.
It’s 3 1/2 minutes long, has no plot or dialogue, and was shot on the cheap on Super 8 film, a favored medium for home movies until videotape and digital photography came along. The first time I saw it I wept uncontrollably, then found that for many others the floodgates had opened too.
