In the meantime, Jones has been allowed to be a part of as many team activities as possible
But as his soreness went away with treatment and he was able to run, throw, and lift weights, Jones figured he’d be as good as new in no time at all. It was something I felt like I’d be able to get over fairly quickly. It didn’t work out that way, so that’s disappointing,” he said.
The good news, at least as of now, is Jones doesn’t need surgery, nor is he in danger of the injury, in which he said there was some swelling, being a long-term worry. “It’s just kind of like a timing thing and unfortunately, kind of ran out of time this season. That’s disappointing and frustrating, but it’s part of this game and something I’ve got to deal with, but I don’t have any concerns long term.”
He was a spectator at Wednesday’s practice, and he’s been on the sidelines during games with an earplug that keeps him tuned into the calls and flow of the game. He’s even tried to offer assistance to his teammates.
