Authorities in New York said the DEC reported at least 10 bomb threats in one day, with the threats coming soon after the agency euthanized a squirrel.

He brought Peanut home, where he rehabilitated the animal for eight months before trying to release the squirrel back into the wild. Longo continues to post to the account. As of Oct. 31, he had a little more than 530,000 followers on Instagram.The DEC and the Chemung County Health Department said Friday that the squirrel and raccoon were euthanized so they could be tested for rabies after Peanut bit someone involved in the investigation.
A spokesperson for the DEC previously said in a statement that the agency started an investigation after receiving “multiple reports from the public about the potentially unsafe housing of wildlife that could carry rabies and the illegal keeping of wildlife as pets.”return Peanut to Longo, it has since been modified and now calls on supporters "to stand with us in demanding accountability from the DEC and the New York State government.
