After five months, New York City ends emergency order on measles outbreak
New York City’s public-health emergency over a measles outbreak in parts of Brooklyn has ended after five months, health officials said Tuesday.
The emergency order, which instituted mandatory measles-mumps-rubella vaccinations and fines for noncompliance in certain ZIP Codes in Brooklyn, went into effect in April as the city was in the midst of the worst outbreak of the disease in decades.
