New York brewery run by Clevelanders adds NE Ohio distribution

42 North in East Aurora, New York, is heading into Ohio. The couple who own it have strong ties to Northeast Ohio.

It is the first distribution outside of New York for the brewery, founded John and Cathy Cimperman in 2015. It resembles a campus that includes a barrel room, garden and an airbnb in East Aurora, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Buffalo.

Through its northeast Ohio distributor, R.L. Lipton, the brewery’s flagship Borderland IPA and a seasonal line starting with Oatmeal Cookie Brown Ale will be distributed locally.John Cimperman is a Clevelander who previously worked for the Cavaliers. Cathy Cimperman is originally from California but attended grade school and high school in Shaker Heights. The couple attended Kent State. Their kids went to Ohio State and Ohio University.
